It seems Naughty Dog is still not done with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End despite Uncharted: The Lost Legacy already taking the limelight with its near release. As per reports, the latest update for Uncharted 4 now features some content from The Lost Legacy. Here’s what you need to know.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in Uncharted 4
According to reports, the latest Uncharted 4 update includes Asav, the antagonist of The Lost Legacy. While the update will not be available until Aug. 22, it leaves several fans excited as it makes Asav a playable character. That is, for Uncharted 4’s Survival and Multiplayer modes, at the very least.
Furthermore, the update also includes skins for both Chloe and Nadine as featured in The Lost Legacy. Another interesting addition is the Survival Arena. A twist on the cooperative Survival mode, Survival Arena “adds over 100 new waves with new enemy types.” It also boasts of new wave modifiers and Siege zones. Survival Arena additionally unlocks the new Savage Starlight Skeleton skins for players.
Interestingly, this new update applies to both Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. This is because the latter already includes all of Uncharted 4’s multiplayer content. Naughty Dog adds that the community is unified. This means that players can team up with friends regardless of which game they own between Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy.
What is Uncharted: The Lost Legacy?
Though it is part of the Uncharted franchise, The Lost Legacy acts as a standalone title in its entirety. While other Uncharted titles star Nathan Drake as the protagonist, The Lost Legacy switches things up by allowing players to take control of Chloe Frazer. The game thus follows Chloe’s journey of hunting down the Tusk of Ganesh amidst a civil war in India. She is joined by Nadine Ross, a mercenary. The story is set about six to twelve months after the events of Uncharted 4.
Gameplay takes elements from other Uncharted titles. It is played from a third-person perspective. Players utilize melee combat, stealth, and firearms when facing against opponents. Additionally, it may prompt players to take control of vehicles in certain portions of the game.
Initially, The Lost Legacy was allegedly developed to be similar in length to that of a DLC (downloadable content) expansion. However, upon further building the game, it was ultimately deemed too vast to be sectioned off as a mere DLC. Thus, it became a standalone title. The Lost Legacy is slated to release on Aug. 22.
