Could the Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay feature more customization for its protagonist, Sora? Some fans seem to think so. This is especially so with the recent release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. As some may know, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 includes the entry called Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- which features Aqua as its main character. The game is an epilogue to Birth by Sleep and a prologue to Kingdom Hearts 3.
Notably, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 also sees the return of the Command Style. Furthermore, it brings in objectives that adapt to a specific world. With these details into account, some fans now hope that such a treatment will be applied to Kingdom Hearts 3 as well.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Gameplay May Follow in Kingdom Hearts 0.2’s Footsteps
Some netizens believe that adding elements of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 into the Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay would definitely make for an interesting venture. By utilizing certain features of Kingdom Hearts 0.2, such as world-exclusive objectives and decorative accessories, Kingdom Hearts 3 may turn out to be all the more compelling. It’s worth noting, though, that this remains to be a fan-made theory for the time being.
Several Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers already boast of the title’s interesting gameplay. There have been notable additions and developments that were formerly absent from other titles. On the other hand, some features seem to be tweaks of certain elements taken from other Kingdom Hearts entries. As such, it isn’t all that unlikely for Kingdom Hearts 3 to take something away from Kingdom Hearts 0.2 and improve on it even further.
No Marvel Worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3 Worlds
In other news, previous reports reveal that the Marvel Universe will not play a role in Kingdom Hearts 3. This is in spite of several fans speculating that there may be a Marvel world in the anticipated game. Though both Marvel and the Kingdom Hearts series fall under Disney, it doesn’t seem like the two will crossover anytime soon.
Confirmation of such news comes from Kingdom Hearts series executive producer Shinji Hashimoto. When asked whether Kingdom Hearts 3 will feature any Marvel elements, Hashimoto replies, “It’s not on the agenda for the moment. However, we may consider it in the future.”
Sora’s Potential Death
Other headlines now speculate on series protagonist Sora and his possible death upon the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. As some netizens point out, Sora’s goal of bringing Roxas and Xion back to life could cost him his own life. This is because Roxas and Xion are essentially a part of him. By reviving them, he may lose a part of himself yet again. As a consequence, this may ultimately spell out his demise.
However, it’s worth noting that such a theory is a little unlikely. This is due to the fact that the Kingdom Hearts series is set to continue on even after the release of its latest sequel. To have the franchise’s own protagonist absent doesn’t seem all that plausible. Thus, speculation regarding Sora’s possible death comes off as a bit unfounded.
