The Premier Ball Glitch is real, and Niantic is currently fixing the issue. In order to make up for all the lost Raid Battle bosses, Niantic has announced that they are giving away free Premier Balls to every player of Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go Glitch
To renew the public’s interest in Pokemon Go, Niantic added a new feature called Raid Battles wherein players have to band together in order to defeat a Legendary Pokemon or an extremely powerful Pokemon. At the end of each battle, players have the chance to capture the Pokemon and add it to their teams. Each player who participated in the Raid Battle get a few Premier Balls in order to capture the Pokemon.
This has been going on for quite some time now but, this week, players started noticing that the last Premier Ball given after a Raid Battle always broke. This reduced their odds of capturing the Pokemon. In a recent update, Niantic acknowledged that there is indeed a widespread glitch.
Moreover, the developer promised that it is currently fixing the bug. “We are actively working to resolve an issue where the Raid Boss always breaks free from the last Premier Ball available,” Niantic said (via Polygon). To make amends with disgruntled gamers, Niantic promised to give an additional Premier Ball to all players at the end of a Raid Battle. This ought to give them another chance to capture the Pokemon.
Pokemon Go Troubles
Niantic has been in hot waters for a couple of days now. The mobile game developer had also made headlines after a disastrous Pokemon Go event in Chicago last month. The event which promised rare Pokemon, as well as a Legendary Pokemon at the end of the day, was met with boos and jeers from the crowd.
Players who paid $20 for a ticket experienced server outages and bugs that prevented them from enjoying the game. At the end of the event, attendees were awarded one Legendary Pokemon by Niantic. Tech Crunch also reported that Niantic had postponed similar Pokemon Go events in Europe this month to prevent another disaster.
