New footage of Assassin’s Creed Origins reveals a bit more about what fans can expect upon the game’s release. In particular, it details a new mission and how side quests work in Assassin’s Creed Origins gameplay. Here’s what you need to know.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Gameplay Footage Reveals New Mission
Recently revealed footage of Assassin’s Creed Origins gameplay shows off a side quest called What’s Yours is Mine. It follows protagonist Bayek who lends a helping hand to Greek geographer Corteseos. Bayek embarks on a journey to retrieve Corteseos’ stolen maps and notes. Gameplay footage details Bayek exploring a pyramid on his journey. It also reveals how scouting can be done with Bayek’s eagle.
Interestingly, Origins allows players to simultaneously take down targets from different missions despite being engaged in a current side quest. Players will be allowed to pursue targets on another mission while in the middle of a current mission.
“If you’ve left a zone or you’ve been detected, those don’t cause you to fail a quest,” explains Origins director Ash Ismail. “So, if you’re in the middle of an investigation and you happen to see a target from another quest come by, and you decide ‘I want to finish that other quest now, because my target is there,’ you can do that.”

Battles in Assassin’s Creed Origins
As previously reported, Origins will feature gang fights in a similar fashion as the popular Grand Theft Auto franchise. This is due to the different factions found in Origins. Seeing as Bayek encounters a plethora of characters, he has the opportunity to fight them either at random or as part of the story.
Notably, the aforementioned factions live out their lives as part of the Origins world. As such, they will thus have their own separate intentions and agenda. With this into account, it’s almost inevitable that factions may clash due to differences in beliefs and morals.
Factions in Assassin’s Creed Origins
To recount, there are three different factions thus far in Origins. Bayek himself belongs to one faction called the Rebels. Then there are the Ptolemies, who are essentially Egyptian enforces. There are also the Bandits, who, as their name suggests, reportedly steal items. With the aforementioned principles at stake, it’s no wonder why factions will bump heads with one another.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is the tenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game will be set in Ptolemaic Egypt, giving players the opportunity to explore Egypt as part of its gameplay. The upcoming title is slated to see a release in October for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
