Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon: First Look at Dusk Lycanroc

Good news for fans waiting on Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon! As per reports, Pokemon Sun and Moon director Shigeru Ohmori recently revealed the first new Pokemon for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Here’s what you need to know.

New Pokemon For Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

The new Pokemon in question is the Dusk Form of Lycanroc. For the uninitiated, Lycanroc is a Rock Type canine Pokemon. It resembles a wolf and is the second evolution of the Pokemon Rockruff. While Lycanroc sport their own respective looks in Sun and Moon, its Dusk Form takes a different turn for Ultra Sun and Moon.

Reportedly, Lycanroc’s Dusk Form manifests when a Rockruff evolves just as the sun sets in Alola. It remains unconfirmed if this is part of the evolution criteria to obtain a Dusk Lycanroc. However, such seems to be the case in the current run of the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime.

Though Lycanroc finally makes its Dusk Form debut, not much is really known about it thus far. Regardless, some fans are hopeful that this may be the start of some promotions for Ultra Sun and Moon. As it stands, Nintendo and Game Freak have been rather quiet regarding the upcoming titles thus far. With the recent surfacing of Dusk Lycanroc, there may be a chance that marketing for Ultra Sun and Moon may begin soon enough.

What is Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon?

Essentially, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon make up the second pair of titles under the Pokemon franchise’s Generation VII. They closely follow the events of the original Sun and Moon. Notably, however, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will feature several changes and tweaks from its predecessors. It will still take place in Alola, but it will boast of new Pokemon that are not present in Sun and Moon.

Furthermore, the anticipated titles will have new Pokemon forms as well. This will include Pokemon based on Legendaries such as Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were first announced back in June. They are set to see a release this November for the Nintendo 3DS.

Pokemon Sun and Moon Salazzle Event

In other news regarding Sun and Moon, an alleged Salazzle event was leaked via a GameStop flyer. Reportedly, the event will give out free “Battle-Ready” Salazzle. This means the aforementioned Pokemon will already be at level 50 and will feature abilities such as Flamethrower, Toxic, and Sludge Bomb.
