Could Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay put a twist to its opening tutorial by placing Kairi as the playable character? Square Enix has yet to announce or confirm such a venture. However, some fans believe that the upcoming game’s tutorial mode may tap into Kairi as a playable character either way. This follows series director Tetsuya Nomura’s previous statements in which he revealed there might be other playable characters in Kingdom Hearts 3.
Will Kingdom Hearts 3 Gameplay Make Kairi a Playable Character?
Redditor ShadowSORA101666 pitches one theory on how Kairi may be a playable character in Kingdom Hearts 3’s opening tutorial. As per their speculations, Kairi may be in the middle of her training to become a Keyblade Master. Some fans may recall how Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance saw Kairi preparing to embark on her journey to reach the coveted Keyblade Master title. Such a scene takes place in Yen Sid’s Tower.
It’s worth noting that Yen Sid’s Tower can be accessed via Twilight Town. With this into account, the theory goes on to indicate the tutorial mode of Kingdom Hearts 3 may have Kairi in Twilight Town as part of her training. Alternatively, she could be in the data version of Twilight Town as the game’s tutorial section.
On the other hand, the theory ventures to include the newly-reformed Lea as a playable character as well. Should this be the case, Lea would be in the same boat as Kairi. He would be in the middle of training at Twilight Town in his efforts to become a Keyblade Master as well.
However, though the prospect seems promising, it is still a theory in essence. As such, it should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. Nevertheless, having Kairi as a playable character in Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay — be it in a brief tutorial or otherwise — is definitely a venture worth looking into.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Worlds
Recent news regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 details the inclusion of Toy Story as a world in the game. The most recent trailer for the Kingdom Hearts sequel shows Sora and his friends encountering Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Gameplay footage shows the characters banding together to take on Heartless and other foes.
Notably, the trailer reveals that a player’s party can now have five characters in total with Sora included. This is some development, seeing as previous Kingdom Hearts titles only permitted three characters at a time. Ultimately, it promises for some interesting dynamics in the game’s battle system.
Additionally, other worlds confirmed for Kingdom Hearts 3 include Big Hero 6 and the return of Mount Olympus from Hercules. Twilight Town is also confirmed to make a comeback. A specific Kingdom Hearts 3 release date has yet to be revealed, but the game is slated to launch sometime in 2018.
