Resident Evil: Revelations for the PS4 and Xbox One
The PS4 and Xbox One iterations of Revelations are set to arrive on Aug. 29 in North America and Europe. It will cost fans $19.99 and will be available in physical and digital formats. Additionally, fans who choose to pre-order via the PlayStation Store will receive a dynamic theme as an added bonus.
Reportedly, fans will also be able to enjoy the game’s Raid Mode. However, it will have an additional spin to it in The Ghost Ship: Chaos. What is Resident Evil: Revelations?
For the uninitiated, Revelations is a spinoff story from the main Resident Evil series. It takes place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The game was originally released in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS. Players take control of franchise regular Jill Valentine as she is aboard a ghost ship in the Mediterranean Sea.
Most interesting about Revelations is how it attempts to break away from the typical Resident Evil format. As some may know, Revelations places more emphasis on survival and evasion. This is in contrast to other entries in the Resident Evil franchise, which prompt players to progress the game through combat.
Revelations 2, meanwhile, follows up on the first Revelations game. Additionally, it is also a follow-up to Resident Evil 5 as well. This time around, players take control of Claire Redfield as the game’s main protagonist. Interestingly, Revelations 2 also marks the first time Barry Burton becomes a playable story character in the main series.
