New updates regarding Assassin’s Creed Origins gameplay have now come to light. As some reports reveal, the upcoming game may share some similarities with popular gaming franchise, Grand Theft Auto (GTA). Just how would this work? Assassin’s Creed and GTA seem to differ vastly, after all. However, as it turns out, Origins may share a similar element with GTA.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Gameplay: How is it Similar to Grand Theft Auto?
It’s worth noting that Origins will feature a plethora of characters in its story. Riding on such, the game’s protagonist, Bayek, will reportedly encounter different groups of people. With this taken into account, these groups may end up engaging in battles with Bayek. So where does GTA come into the picture?
As Bayek encounters several groups of characters, he may later fight them as part of the Assassin’s Creed Origins gameplay. Notably, this is comparable to gang fights in GTA. As some fans may know, GTA games sometimes include gang fights that may spawn at random. Alternatively, players may come across such gangs as part of the game’s main story. As per reports, such encounters may manifest in Origins as well.
Origins will reportedly feature “quite a few different factions in the world.” What’s interesting about these factions is that they will truly exist as part of the story’s world. As such, they have their own separate intentions and agenda. This is where differences between factions may begin to clash later on.
Creative Director Ashraf Ismail notes that these factions feature characters “that have a schedule, that have an agenda, that criss-cross paths, and if they happen to be enemies they’ll fight, if they happen to be allies they’ll hug each other.” This ultimately adds another dimension to the game’s overall environment and world-building.
Factions in Assassin’s Creed Origins Gameplay
Origins protagonist Bayek belongs to one faction himself. This faction calls itself the Rebels. On the other hand, there are also the Ptolemies, who are Egyptian enforcers in essence. Additionally, there are the Bandits, who allegedly steal items as part of their everyday. Based on the aforementioned principles, it seems only natural that the different factions would collide.
What is Assassin’s Creed Origins About?
As well-versed fans may already know, Origins is the tenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. It succeeds 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. This time around, the game will be set in Ptolemaic Egypt. With the open-world approach of Assassin’s Creed, players will be able to freely explore Egypt as part of its gameplay. Brought to fans by Ubisoft, Origins is slated for a release in October for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
