After months of rumors, an Activision employee uploaded a new footage online showing Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy with Xbox One controls. While the footage has now been taken down, mirror videos have been uploaded on YouTube.
Karen Zisa, a UI designer who worked on Vicarious Vision’s Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, outed a minute and a half video showing the load and save screens of the Crash remaster. Zisa worked on the save/load screens of the N Sane Trilogy, so uploading this clip – likely for her portfolio—makes sense.
So far, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy has become the biggest single-platform launch of 2017. The Crash remaster managed to beat AAA exclusives including Horizon Zero Dawn. While Crash publisher Vicarious Visions could be looking to reach more audiences, the bandicoot was initially seen as a PlayStation mascot for the PS One, thus the gaming community can only wait and see if the rumored Crash N Sane Trilogy Xbox version sells well.
Since the Crash remaster was announced at Sony’s E3 conference years ago, it remains unclear if it is a PS4 exclusive. The Twitter account of PlayStation Ireland even Tweeted before that the game was a PS4 exclusive, only to delete their statement shortly after.
Rumors have even sprung online that the Crash remaster is only exclusive to the PS4 for one year. A Best Buy banner stating “Coming June 30 1 Year Console Exclusive” was shared online by Twitter user SkyFan91. However, SkyFan91 later gave an update about Best Buy’s image:
“Update with the 1-year thing. Told them about the situation and they had it removed from the branch and that it was a mistake phew. They said it was a banner from A couple months back that they now decided to put out.”
At present, both Activision and Microsoft remains mum about Crash’s appearance on the Xbox One.
