It looks like Bandai Namco have another Naruto game coming that isn’t Shinobi Striker, as the company has trademarked the name “Ninja Voltage” in Europe. Not much else is known about the trademark, but given the company’s usage of “ninja” in past games it seems like the title is for a Naruto game. Only time will tell if this ends up being based on the popular manga/anime or a new IP, but it is definitely interesting.
Bandai Namco have done the Naruto license justice in recent years, so it will be interesting to see what Ninja Voltage is like, assuming it’s a Naruto game. The company has dabbled with mobile games in the past, so this could be a new smartphone/tablet title for the Naruto series, though that’s just pure speculation. Frankly, it seems too early to work on a new console game based on the franchise, since Shinobi Striker doesn’t even have a release date yet.
Speaking of Naruto-to-Boruto: Shinobi Striker, the brawler has garnered a bit of a mixed reaction from fans, with fans comparing it to the poorly received Dragon Ball Battle of Z, according to Saiyan Island. While there isn’t anything wrong with a multiplayer brawler, it might not be the direction fans want the series to go to. Things might get a bit better if the company announces single-player content, but until then fans are remaining skeptical.
To be fair to the company, they have covered the whole Naruto story with the acclaimed Ultimate Ninja Storm games, so they might want to try something different with Shinobi Striker. Fans will soon be able to play all of the games on PS4, Xbox One and PC with the upcoming Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy collection. Those that already own Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 can get the Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy, which is exclusive to digital stores.
