It looks like Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is going to try and outdo its predecessors – Lego Marvel Super Heroes and Lego Marvel’s Avengers – by adding even more characters. The game’s new trailer was shown during SDCC 2017 and unveiled a number of new characters players will be able to use. Gwenpool, Howard the Duck, Vulture, Forbush Man and more were shown in the game’s latest trailer, all of whom should make comic book fans happy.
These characters join Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Gwen and Kang the Conqueror among others as the title’s newest heroes (and villains). Fan favorites from the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy were also confirmed in the first video, along with alternate versions of well-known characters. Gladiator Hulk, the aforementioned Spider-Man 2099 and a cowboy version of Captain America are also part of the game, which should result in some silly fun.
WB Games has also revealed Carnom, the combined form of Carnage and Venom, who will likely wreak havoc in the cosmic storyline of Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. These two are really popular with fans of Spider-Man, so it will be interesting to see how they react to Carnom. Some might argue that Toxin – the spawn of Carnage who looks like a mix of the two characters – should be added as well, but there’s always more time.
An interesting addition to Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is Deadpool, who is no stranger to the Lego Marvel games, but is also a big part of Fox’s movie plans. Marvel Studios and Fox have been butting heads as of late, resulting in X-Men and Fantastic Four characters not being added to Marvel games. The Fantastic Four were recently removed from Marvel Heroes Omega, despite playing a vital part in the story mode, though they did appear in the first Lego Marvel Super Heroes.
