Red Dead Redemption 2 Material Spotted at Local Retailers

By on

It looks like we might be getting some more news for Red Dead Redemption 2 as soon as game-related promotional material has made its way to local retailers.

According to RDR2.com, posters and promotional art for Rockstar’s upcoming Western has started to arrive in various countries. These images already have an “Autumn 2017” release date marked on them as well as a PEGI 18 rating.

Rockstar is most likely getting an early start in promoting their next major title. A similar circumstance occurred with the critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto V which had a very impressive ad campaign. From trailers that reached millions of views to posters on the sides of massive buildings, Rockstar pulled no punches when it came to that title and it looks like the same can happen to the next Red Dead.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Promotional Material Arrives at the Stores

So what could this sudden surge of promotional material mean?

Like what was mentioned earlier, there’s a good chance that Rockstar wants to promote Red Dead Redemption 2 as hard as they did Grand Theft Auto. They want their new title to become as much of a household name as their most popular franchise.

It’s also possible that they’re getting ready to continue their digital ad campaign. Ever since the initial teaser trailer we really haven’t heard much regarding the new game.

So perhaps this sudden push in offline marketing is a sign that we’re getting something online soon. A new trailer perhaps? Maybe some real gameplay? Only time will tell.

Regardless, Rockstar has a history of being good at making games that become both famous and infamous, depending on who you ask.

Them beginning their ad campaign this early on might also serve as a constant reminder that the game is coming out in the coming year. Too often do games generate a lot of hype at their initial announcement, only for the hype to die down by the time the game actually comes out.

Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out in Autumn of 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
