Semi Radradra Quits NRL to Join French Rugby Club Toulon

French rugby club Toulon claims they signed on Semi Radradra for a one year deal with one year option. But the player’s manager denies this.

Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal announced that Radradra will join the French Top 14. “He has signed with Toulon (for) one year, with a one-year option,” Boudjellal told Fox Sports.

The club’s website then posted that it has ‘landed another big blow on the transfer market,’ because Radradra will transfer to their club in 2017.

Radradra’s manager George Christodoulou admits that the Toulon Rugby Union Club made an offer for his client. But Toulon’s offer was for the 2018 season with an option for a second season, he adds.

Also, he stressed there was no done-deal for Semi Radradra’s transfer. “I don’t know why Toulon would be announcing his official signing at his stage,” Christodoulou says in a text message.

He explains they have to finalize Radrara’s court hearing first before they can make any final decision for the player’s future.

Semi Radradra To Stay With Eels In 2017

The Parramatta Local Court has issued an arrest warrant against the Eel’s winger after he failed to appear in court Monday. His ex-partner Perina Ting had charged him with domestic violence offenses.

Radradra had left for Fiji last week to visit his father. His father is ill with pulmonary tuberculosis. However, the magistrate did not accept this excuse. He noted that the illness of Radradra’s father’s is ongoing.

Bernie Gurr, Parramatta’s chief executive, assured Eels fans that the 24-year-old star player will remain with the NRL club in 2017.

“The thing for our club is he’s contracted through to the 31st of October, 2017,” Gurr told Sky Sports Radio on Wednesday. “So, mate, he’ll be with us in ‘17.

Gurr said he talked with Radradra’s manager who denied that a contract had been signed.

Over the years, Boudjellal has often scouted for talent at the NRL and Australian rugby. He enticed Sonny Bill Williams to the Toulon in 2008. Wallabies Drew Mitchell, Matt Giteau, James O’Connor and Liam Gill are currently at the club.
