Unlike the protagonist in Pokemon Sun and Moon, money talks. It’s what keeps the world afloat and what keeps potions in your pocket.
But money doesn’t come easy, you have to work for it. And in the Pokémon games, that usually means battling other trainers and perhaps taking advantage of the Amulet Coin.
However, there does exist another method of getting some free money. It’s not exactly a lot, nor is it really quick, but it’s still useful for people with the time and patience.
Pokémon Sun and Moon Free Money
To do this trick the player first needs access to Akala Island — the second island in the story. Specifically, you need to go to the Thrifty Megamart, a massive store next to the Battle Royal Dome.
Next, you’re going to need at least 2000 starting PokéDollars. Think of it as an investment.
What’s special about the Thrifty Megamart is that everything you buy from the store will have a 50% discount.
So what you have to do is purchase 10 of the basic PokéBalls for 2000 PokéDollars. Because of the discount in the store, you’ll be refunded 1000 PokéDollars.
But at the same time, buying 10 PokéBalls will get you a free Premier Ball — this is the key part of this trick.
Once you have your 10 PokéBalls and free Premier Ball, just sell all of it back. Selling the 10 PokéBalls will refund you your initial 1000 PokéDollar purchase while selling the Premier Ball will give you 10 PokéDollars.
And that’s about it. Just rinse and repeat the act of buying and selling until you’re satisfied.
Granted 10 PokéDollars is not a lot, but if you aren’t in the mood to go out and search for trainers to get the big money, then this is the easiest way to get free money. You just have to be patient.
