Microsoft Surface Phone Rumors: Production Begins in 2017, Specs, Features, Release Date

Microsoft Surface Phone Rumors have refused to die down. There are widespread rumors of Microsoft releasing a brand new Surface phone sometime in 2017. However, nothing has been officially confirmed by the company yet.

Microsoft Surface Phone Rumors have been tantalizing gadget freaks immensely. Techno Buffalo reports that production of this phone could start in 2017. Microsoft is possibly considering going ahead with this project.

Pegatron is Microsoft’s manufacturing partner in this project and is set to commence trial production. The company has already been working collaboratively with Microsoft on the Surface Phone. Pegatron and Microsoft are reportedly considering a 2017 release date for this phone.

These developments have sparked the Microsoft Surface Phone Rumors. These rumors were also sparked after Satya Nadella’s statement. The CEO of Microsoft let out a possible hint around a few weeks earlier.

What Is Known About the Phone Till Now 

Nadella talked of Microsoft aiming to create “the ultimate mobile device”, something which created huge excitement amongst fans. This statement clearly hints towards the development of a Surface Phone as per many enthusiasts.

Almost nothing is known about the upcoming Surface Phone as of yet. GSM Arena has also reported that Pegatron is reportedly pushing forward with the project. Microsoft could release the Surface Phone either next year or even in 2018. Early 2018 would be a more feasible release period as per several experts.

There are reports of the Surface Phone possessing an Intel based chipset. It may also have ample horsepower for running x86 applications in Continuum minus hassles. Microsoft has clearly retained its hopes of breaking into the smartphone segment.

Microsoft earlier attempted to enter the phone market with Nokia’s acquisition. This came after Windows Phone proved to be a lukewarm proposition going by customer responses. Even the Nokia acquisition and co-branding proved a damp squib.

The Surface Phone may finally be Microsoft’s redeemer in this space.
