Over two days have passed since former NRL player Chad Robinson left his home in New South Wales. His whereabouts remain a mystery.
The family expressed apprehension over Robinson’s disappearance, ‘which is totally out of character,’” sister Monique Brennan said. “He’s never left home and not come home,” she said. “He doesn’t have a phone or any money; so that is a grave concern to us.”
Brennan recalled she saw her brother at about 11:30 Saturday morning. Then, Robinson spent the whole day away from his family home. He returned at around 5:30 p.m. and left again at 9:30 p.m. When Robinson left he was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of shorts and had no shoes. He was driving his silver Subaru Outback.
There was no fight or any similar incident that happened before her brother left, Brennan said in a 9News interview.
Family Appeals For Information On Robinson
Brennan then posted this message on social media: “If anyone comes across him or the car, could you please contact any of the family or the police. As you can imagine we are very concerned for his welfare.”
The New South Wales police also posted an appeal on its Facebook account seeking public assistance.
“There are grave concerns for his welfare and police urge anyone who sees him to contact them immediately,” the NSW police wrote.
The police advised anyone who has information about the former rugby league player to call their number or make a report on their online Crime Stoppers reporting page.
Police Widens Search
Police officers have been searching everywhere. “We are not leaving any stone unturned for this fellow,” Inspector Matt Harris of Castle Hill Police Station told ABC News Australia.
Robinson likes the outdoors, bush walking and finding waterfalls, among others.
Chad Robinson played the forward position for Parramatta Eels between 2000 and 2008. He also played for the Sydney Roosters between 2002 and 2004. He transferred to London-based Harlequin club of the English Super League. He made his debut there last February 2009.
But in January 2010, the Harlequins announced the release of Robinson from his contract with the club. The release was made “by mutual consent as a result of a recurrent knee injury.”
