NBA 2016 news reports have come in about Anthony Davis joining the Cleveland Cavaliers. If this is true, he will make a formidable team there with LeBron James. Rumors of Davis’ exit from the New Orleans Pelicans have been doing the rounds for a long time now.
NBA 2016 reports have also come in about the Pelicans not making the playoffs this year. In spite of an improvement in their performance, a playoff berth still seems to elude the Pelicans. Even if they do make it to the playoffs, the Golden State Warriors or Los Angeles Clippers may dismantle them.
Will Davis Join the Cavs?
NBA 2016 rumors are abuzz about Anthony Davis being traded off to the Cleveland Cavaliers. HNGN reports that Davis is currently averaging a fabulous 31.3 points in 15 season games. He has also notched up 10.7 rebounds in tandem with 2.8 blocks in just 36.7 minutes.
Davis also posted a fabulous 45 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This was backed up by 10 rebounds, 2 steals, a block and 3 assists. However, it seems that Davis will not be in the reckoning for an NBA title in the near future. He has only managed to reach the playoffs once with the Pelicans.
Davis reportedly desires to play for a better team like the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors and Cavaliers went head to head in the NBA finals over the last couple of seasons. This season, the Cavs are again favorites to win the trophy.
The Warriors have snagged Kevin Durant and the Cavs are also looking for a big ticket signing. Davis will certainly boost inside defense in tandem with Tristan Thompson at the Cavs. He will also boost offensive play greatly.
The Cavs are considering trading Kevin Love to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Davis. This may work out well for both teams.
