WWE Survivor Series 2016 recap includes a Shield reunion to defeat Styles and a legendary match-up between Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg.
Some would argue that other than the event’s highlights, everything else seems lackluster. However, Survivor Series proved to be a great night for WWE’s management. They earned big bucks for the evening and the night was a full-house both on the stadium and in pay-per-view.
WWE Survivor Series 2016 Recap: Shield Reunion
One of the most exciting parts of the evening was seeing all three members of Shield reunited.
The pro wrestling stable first debuted on 2012. They reigned supreme and was undefeated until 2013. However, the three man team did not last very long and led their separate ways on 2014.
The stable consisted of Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. And over their reign, they have defeated big names such as Randy Orton, John Cena, The Undertaker and Big Show.
On Survivor Series, the trio worked together once again in defeating the WWE World Champion Aj Styles.
This happened after Ambrose was removed from the match because of Styles. Which angered Ambrose who came back to defeat the champ. Both Reigns and Rollins are present for their participation in a tag team for Raw.
As Ambrose came to defeat Styles, security rushed to remove the former from the stage. This triggered a reaction from his former team who rushed to help him out. The two, Rollins and Reigns took out security long enough to be able to help Ambrose out.
It ended well for the trio with a knocked out Styles in the announcer’s table.
This mini-reunion prompted speculations of the return of Shield. However, it is best to hold your horses because it looks like this will be a one-time thing. Or not… who knows?
