Fallout 4 PS4 Mods Release in Next Patch! Expected to be Similar to Skyrim

Fallout 4 fans are in for a treat, sort of. Fans excited for Fallout 4 PS4 mods can expect them in the next patch. However, there isn’t much to expect.

Popular developer Bethesda Softworks has finally announced the arrival of Fallout 4 PS4 mods in the next patch. This is something that is bound to happen, given last month’s release of mods for the Xbox One.

However, Bethesda advised players to log in their games to update their Creation Kits. This will allow them to at least modify the game at some level before the mods arrive. Another Tweet told players to expect the mods to arrive within the month. However, the date itself was not yet revealed.

It seems the developers are prepping players for its Version 1.8 full update. This means there will be a slate of new features to include aside from the PlayStation 4 mods. It will hopefully fix some issues in the PlayStation 4 that were found in the PC version of the game. Fans can view the notes here.

Fallout 4 PS4 Mods: A Sad Day for Modding

Players aware of the tricky situation between Bethesda and Sony will be aware of the nature of mods in Fallout 4. This will be similar to the mod scheme implemented for Skyrim Special Edition in the PS4. Fans will not be able to utilize external assets like in very popular mods. Instead, they can only work within those found in the game.

This is not an ideal modding scenario in the PlayStation 4 for sure. However, there are a lot of useful mods in consolation.

To the unaware, Fallout 4 should have already received mod support for the PlayStation 4. Sadly, Sony has restricted Bethesda’s abilities to make sure the mods work properly given the hardware’s limitations. Bethesda’s Pete Hines even said it was Sony’s fault that some updates had been paused for a little while.

By the time mods are fully integrated into the game, Bethesda can finally focus on patches and updates to fix the game. As for post-Fallout 4 progress, no one really knows. We just know that there are two new games in the works… but what they are is anybody’s guess.

Fallout 4 is available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
