Gears of War 4 PC

Gears of War 4 PC DLC Review: Legacy Maps Release on November! Here’s How to Download Them!

When you’re fighting alien baddies, it’s not so bad to enjoy the classics. Gears of War 4 PC will be giving legacy maps from Gears of War 3 this November.

The new maps, Checkout and Drydock, were both from the original Gears of War 3. Season pass subscribers can get the map as early as November 1, while the rest of the public can get a taste of Gears of War nostalgia on November 8. This heralds the first set of post-launch content for the game.

Not only that, but both maps can be used in both multiplayer and Horde 3.0 modes. This means Gears of War 4 fans can get a new dose of nostalgia from the new and improved maps.

Checkout is the supermarket in Hanover, Cole’s hometown. The map is set 25 years later after Gears of War 3, where the abandoned market is being overflowed with wildlife. Of course, the alleys and the huge crates make for a lot of room for intense combat.

Meanwhile, Drydock is a fan-favorite area, where the ship-building facility offers a lot of opportunities for good tactics and strategic mayhem.

Of course, this doesn’t mean fans are at the same level as season pass subscribers. While the latter can use the maps permanently, fans can only use the maps until new ones come along. This means Gears of War 4 PC season pass owners can fully enjoy other benefits such as early access to new maps and modes and new skins.

According to Game Informer, as much as all players want the maps to be free for everyone, this isn’t an option for The Coalition – yet. It will be important to know that this “free for everyone” feature has helped other games such as Halo 5: Guardians and Overwatch become popular with the masses.

Gears of War 4 PC: Ambition at its core

The DLC and post-launch content for Gears of War 4 PC appear to be very ambitious. According to developers The Coalition, the game will offer two new maps every month.

Each new map will also be extremely detailed and offer a lot more features. This is good news or Horde 3.0 fans, as the game mode demands precision as well as over-the-top mayhem.

Gears of War 4 is available for the PC and Xbox One.
