Love is in the air for Callen when Agent Kolcheck (Bar Paly) officially returns to NCIS Los Angeles Season 8 Episode 5.
TV Line reported that “NCIS: Los Angeles welcomes back Bar Paly as Russian-born Chicago cop-turned-security specialist Anna Kolcheck.”
“With Kensi out of commission for a bit, we bring in somebody else to help the team — Anna Kolcheck,” NCIS executive producer R. Scott Gemmill had told TVLine. “We’re sort of pushing that relationship [with Callen] forward as well,” he adds.
Anna comes back as a temporary replacement for Special Agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah). Agent Blye is in a coma after she suffered severe injuries in a helicopter crash. Ruah is actually on maternity leave, according to News Everyday.
Anna returns to NCIS LA Episode 5 (Ghost Gun) to help them solve the murder of a navy machinist with high-security clearance. The team launched a city-wide hunt to find evidence. Anna partners with G. Callen (Chris O’ Donnell).
TV Line recalls that during Anna’s appearance last February, she and G. Callen had emotionally charged scenes when they went undercover.
Anna was on a mission to save her father, Arkady Kolcheck, when she met Callen. Both had shared special feelings for each other.
Callen-Kolcheck romance rekindled on NCIS Los Angeles season 8?
Callen never had a romantic involvement with anyone throughout the series. With Kolcheck having a longer exposure this season, the budding romance between the two could be rekindled.
A released promo for the NCIS Los Angeles season 8 Episode 5 shows Callen and Kolcheck both appearing happy and excited, according to a report posted on Movie News Guide. Callen also told Kolcheck he is happy the latter is back.
The MNG report says that the body language of both Callen and Kolcheck hinted that they might be dating on-screen this season.
A News Everyday article says there are questions about how long Anna will remain part of the team in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8 since Kensi had woken up from coma. Kensi, however, has yet to recover and go back to work.
NCIS: Los Angeles first aired on September 22, 2009 as part of the successful NCIS franchise. It focuses on the Office of Special Projects, a clandestine division of NCIS located in Los Angeles.
