Vampire Diaries season 8 is the final installment of the vampire series. According to Paul Wesley, he sees a not so happy ending for both his character Stefan and his brother, Damon.
Fans of the eight year-long series were heartbroken with the news that Vampire Diaries season 8 is the last of the show. Some cannot even remember how life was like without Damon and Stefan Salvatore.
While it is confirmed that season 8 is the final season, many questions still linger in the minds of the show’s followers.
For instance, one question that always comes up is if Elena Gilbert, played by Nina Dobrev, will come back for the last season. Dobrev, who has made an exit after season 6, has not yet confirmed or denied speculations of her return. However, CW confirmed to be talking with the former Vampire Diaries staple character.
Another question of great curiosity is what will happen to Mystic Falls or better yet, to the Salvatore brothers.
Vampire Diaries Season 8: Salvatore Brothers will Die?
It seems like both Stefan’s actor Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon, agree on the appropriate ending for the two vampires.
Ian and Paul share the same sentiments that the vampires don’t deserve a very happy ending and should, by all means, keep away from Mystic Falls.
During an interview with E!, Ian reveals that the ending would not be happy saying “It’s Mystic Falls. There are no happy endings. It didn’t start that way and I don’t know if it’s going to end that way. I do know that’s a very much anticipated storyline but I honestly just don’t know!”
Additionally, he shares that because of what they did to Elena and the small town, they should simply leave the place.
If asked what the ending should be for Damon, Ian shared “Just sit on a beach all night drinking Caribbean rum, and when the sun comes up, [share] one last toast, give each other a hug, take off their rings and throw them into the water,”
Wesley agrees with his on-screen brother completely. He shared his thoughts during an interview saying that his perfect ending is “[Stefan] should take off his ring and die with Damon.”
Makes us think that the similar endings the two has might not only be coincidence but a spoiler for what is to come.
