Criminal Minds Season 12 has got off to a rollicking start after the break. Keeper, the title of Episode 4, seems to hint at the identity of the serial killer. Thomas Gibson returns as Aaron Hotchner but speculation is rife of him being killed on the show.
Criminal Minds Season 12 is in the news for the episode 4 tease hinting at the revelation of the serial killer’s identity. The BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) sets out to track a person of interest led by Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster). This is an Appalachian Trail manhunt on Virginia’s outskirts after the multiple killings in Central City with no known suspects.
There are several rumors as to the identity of the serial killer. In the episode 4 teaser unveiled by CBS, the team chases down a person whose bloodied right arm is only shown. The investigative results to be revealed by Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangness) will throw the light on whether the serial killer is actually human.
Spoilers hint at the BAU finally being able to track the killer and this is slated to be the first major accomplishment for Prentiss, according to iTech Post.
Why Gibson’s Role Is Being Erased?
In another important development, Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) may be killed off or simply go away after his return to Criminal Minds Season 12. Gibson has reportedly been fired from the show for kicking a writer.
Gibson stated that the show is writing off Hotchner and talked of how it “seems that they’re trying to erase me from the show.” According to Inquisitr, Gibson has clarified that the purported incident was only an accident and not a display of aggression.
Gibson talked of how he “went to Virgil and told him there was a line that I thought contradicted an earlier line.” The writer insisted that the line had to be there and according to Gibson, “as he brushed past me, my foot came up and tapped him on the leg.”
There was a verbal confrontation but Gibson claimed that he has already apologized. He is reportedly shocked by his sudden dismissal from the show.
The show’s lower ratings are also being attributed to Gibson’s absence. Irate fans have also come up with hashtags like #SupportThomasGibson and #NoHotchNoWatch to express their resentment.
The absence of Shemar Moore and other original cast members over the years coupled with this latest development is leading to a severe loss of interest. Will the show’s producers reconsider their decision? Only time will tell!
