Marvel Studios recently announced three movies that will complete the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 lineup and Iron Man 4 movie is not one of them.
Phase 3 lineup includes Black Panther to premiere on February 16, 2018, the second installment of the Antman series Antman and the Wasp on July 6, 2018, and the big screen debut of Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
Marvel Studios has also announced that they have three movies lined up this 2020 but is yet to reveal the titles of the movie. After failing to make it into the Phase 3 lineup, fans continue to hope that Iron Man 4 will be part of the 2020 upcoming movies.
The three yet-untitled movies will be released on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020.
Because of Marvel’s non-committal statements on the status of the Iron Man franchise’s future, fans are becoming anxious. And when they are anxious, they start to make their own deductions.
In a report by GameNGuide, if we are to follow the comic book story, we might be seeing Tony Stark mentoring a 15-year old girl named Riri Williams. In the new Invincible Iron Man comic book, Riri is a black teenager who goes by the name of IronHeart.
When the new Iron man comic book was announced, it garnered mixed reactions from fans. Some said that a fresh female superhero is very much welcome. While others opposed to Iron Man being succeeded by a woman, let alone a teenager. Because of this new development, diehard fans of Tony Stark are worried that they will see less of their idol and more of the new, unknown hero in the Iron Man 4 movie.
Recently, Marvel was scrutinized by fans after their release of the Invincible Iron Man comic book cover sporting Riri in a tight red midriff tank top and low-cut black pants. In a report by NY Daily Times, women have expressed on social media their remorse on the artwork which led for the comic company to pull the artwork. The controversial artwork was created by J. Scott Campbell.
Marvel then posted several, more conservative drawings of Riri worked by artist Stefano Caselli.
