Rockstar Games didn’t want fans to wait. The popular studio finally announced Red Dead Redemption 2 just two days after its historic tease.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The much-awaited game will have a Fall 2017 release.
The game highlights what appears to be a “new” online experience, which hints an immersive multiplayer experience. Given that it was also developed by the same team as Grand Theft Auto 5, it appears Red Dead Redemption 2 will be more than just “open world.”
Players can expect a new trailer tomorrow – but what else is in store for them?

Fortunately for Rockstar Games, they rode the hype train very well. On Sunday, they teased a black Rockstar logo on a splotch of red – indicating something related to Red Dead Redemption.
They unveiled the sunset backdrop yesterday, which made more fans speculate. Today’s announcement confirms the sequel, and now fans want more.
Harsh , gun-toting lands
According to the Rockstar Games‘ website, the game will be set in the same Western setting as the same games in the franchise. It will be a story in America’s “unforgiving” heartland.
Interestingly, the clear landscapes and the violent look of the Wild West may be a fitting arena for the game’s multiplayer experience.
According to Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser, the game would hopefully bring the same amount of entertainment like their other hit titles did. But seeing the success of Grand Theft Auto 5 and the momentous hit that is Mafia 3, Red Dead Redemption 2 should work hard to meet expectations.
The original Red Dead Redemption had players take on the role of John Marston. He was forced to work for a gang in exchange for the safety of his family. The moral conflicts and the immersive world paved way for a psychological analysis of John.
Regardless, players and fans of the game should be ecstatic to see the appearance of six new protagonists in the sequel. This hints a bit of cooperative multiplayer, or tactics-oriented combat.
In games such as Grand Theft Auto 5, players have the option to recruit allies. However, much of them are operated on their own. With the appearance of six new characters, can they be customizable or do they have tales of their own?
However, there are still more yet to be revealed about Red Dead Redemption 2. Others speculated it will be a prequel, while others say it’s a new story in itself.
According to Game Rant, there are no news yet if the sequel will support the PC and other upcoming consoles when it’s released.
