While the rumors of Spongebob cancelled has been proven to be false, we can’t help but to think what the ending could be if the cartoon really did end.
We can’t imagine television without Spongebob Squarepants and his misadventures at Bikini Bottom. It’s already sort of a TV staple generations have enjoyed.
The Nickeledeon cartoon series created by animator and marine biologist, Stephen Hillenburg first graced the small screen in 1999 and has since had countless episodes running, movies made under the title, comic books, video games, clothing items and other merchandise as well as Bikini Bottom-inspired theme parks.
The highly-successful cartoon is about Spongebob, a sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea (yes, the series’ soundtrack is playing inside our heads too!) and the different creatures living in Bikini Bottom. Spongebob and his best friend, Patrick Star who is a starfish, works at Krusty Krab owned by Mr. Krabs. Part of the staff of the burger joint famous for its Kraby Patties is Squidward Tentacles who also happens to be Spongebob’s neighbor.
Other characters include Plankton, who’s sole purpose in life is to steal the secret recipe for the kraby patties to use for his low-ranking restaurant Chum Bucket. Sandy Cheecks, a squirrel from Texas is one of Spongebob’s closest friends and Gary is a snail that Spongebob has made his pet.
Spongebob Cancelled: Mr. Krabs Fried!
If Spongebob cancelled ever becomes a reality, we’ve come up with our own ending to the story and it includes a kitchen mishap ala Spongebob Squarepants style.
It will be just another day for Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward in Krusty Krabs. On the way to work, Spongebob tells Patrick that he has a feeling that something bad is going to happen to Mr. Krabs today. Patrick says its probably got to do with Plankton and one of his failed attempts to steal the Kraby Patty recipe.
But Spongebob feels really different, it is bothering him. So, instead of going straight to Krusty Krabs, he drops by Squidward’s house, knocks profusely as always. When the grumpy Squidward finally answers the door, Spongebob and Patrick talks simultaneously about something happening to Mr. Krabs.
Squidward dismisses the two as crazy and says he does not really care but the two continue to bug him to devise a plan to save Mr. Krabs.
When they finally arrive at the hamburger joint, Mr. Krabs is already in his room, counting his money as always.
As part of their plan, Spongebob convinces Mr. Krabs to take the day off to no avail. Mr. Krabs tells Spongebob that he is busy and asks him to help outside because it’s a busy day.
Since Spongebob is distracted the entire day, he did not notice the oil Patrick spilled all over the floor of the kitchen to the dining area and continued cooking without paying attention. A charred paper falls to the floor and the entire kitchen following Patrick’s oil spill trail to the dining area and even to Mr. Krabs room as Patrick was called there earlier.
Oblivious to the fire already started, the staff and Mr. Krab who is now re-counting his money, got stuck in the now caving-in fast food.
Finally catching up to reality, the staff panicked to escape then Spongebob remembered that Mr. Krabs is still inside the office. As the heroic sponge rush to Mr. Krabs who is panicking to gather his money inside a bag before it all gets burned. Spongebob heeds Mr. Krabs to leave all the money behind but he refuses. A wall fell in between the two and Spongebob now has no way to reach him.
Firefighters finally arrive and upon the retrieval of the now fried Mr. Krabs, all Bikini Bottom citizens are shocked. He is not moving or breathing. And before being pronounced dead, Squidward says “At least his money was saved.” Like a miracle, Mr. Krabs wakes up and gets his bag of money.
Before the series ends, he tells Spongebob that he is actually moving out of Bikini Bottom and passes the secret recipe of the Krabby Patty to the teary eyed sponge.
That’s our conclusion. What’s your “Spongebob Cancelled” ending?
