Spice Girls Wannabe Reunion 2016: Tour Dates, Venues, Posh Spice Details & More!

By on

Spice Girls isn’t quite right without Posh Spice and we can’t help ourselves call the new (er… old) group a Spice Girls wannabe.

It has been 22 years since Spice Girls brought some flavor into our lives and sold millions of albums since then. The iconic British five-woman group included Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham),  Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice).

We all remember their hit songs Wannabe, Say You’ll Be There, 2 Become 1, Spice Up Your Life and Too Much to name a few. But maybe we wish to remember the young girl group as that — young and in the ’90s.

However, it seems that with their 20th anniversary, the girls are also looking to do a Spice Girls reunion and even get the band together again for good. But not everyone’s joining the Spice Girls wannabe reunion group.

Victoria Beckham has announced that she will not be joining the reunion group which includes Geri, Emma and Mel B, which they named as Spice Girls GEM. According to Beckham, her reason was because of the high demands of work and family life.

Though the Brit business woman said she supports GEM, she also hopes they will not play the same Spice Girls music.

“What we did in the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs I think I might be a bit sad,” she told the Sunday Times, notes E Online.

Melanie C also opted out saying, “Truth be told, earlier this year after several face-to-face meetings with the girls I made the difficult decision not to be part of a proposed reunion with Emma, Geri and Melanie. Victoria had already bowed out understandably with the demands of her fashion label and her rather large family.”

Spice Girls wannabe reunion tour dates and updates:

According to News.com.au, “While Spice Girls GEM have worked on some new material — a track called Song For Her was rumoured to be the first result of their efforts, but remains unheard — any live dates as a three-piece would surely involve singing the group’s back catalogue, rather than new material.”

In the website of GEM, they posted a video promising something new to happen. Three months have passed and we still have not seen or heard of any updates and schedules.
