Limbo is a glorious game. If you haven’t yet played it, then shame on you.
Fortunately, though, you can stifle your shame and pick your chin up. The game is temporarily free on Steam, but act fast, the offer only lasts till tomorrow at 10 PST. After that, the game returns to its full price.
Not only is Limbo a great game, but it also has the benefit of having one of the shortest (and best) descriptions on Steam: “Uncertain of his sister’s fate, a boy enters LIMBO.” Of course that doesn’t do anything to tell what the game is, but it’s a puzzle platformer, and as I hinted at previously, a damn good one.
Playdead, the makers of Limbo, are doing this to remind everyone of their existence. Their next game, Inside, comes out on July 7th, and seeing as it’s been five whole years since Limbo released, it’s no surprise that they’d want to do a little something to garner interest.
And if Inside is anything like their first game, it’s going to be a good one, and it has an equally cryptic description: “Hunted and alone, a boy finds himself drawn into the center of a dark project.”
