Staff Picks are Featured in This Week’s Humble Bundle

By on

After taking last week off, Humble Bundle is back again with the Humble Staff Picks Bundle, featuring seven games picked by a gargoyle named Glen.

It’s a pretty solid one, too, with sexy picks out of both the bottom and the beat the average tier.

For a mere buck, you can get:

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, a first person online game where you chop people up with swords. It’s got fairly large-scale battles, and probably one of the best first-person melee combat out there.

Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons was easily one of the best games of 2013, and is most definitely worth a $1. It’s a single player adventure game where you control two brothers and once and solve some puzzles. Oh, plus there’s a pretty great story.

Ultimate General: Gettysburg is an RTS game set during the civil war. Control thousands of soldiers, either Union or Confederate, and have them kill each other. It’s good, and fairly accessible.

Then there’s the 10% off the monthly bundle, which if used now for the May bundle will get you Mad Max.

Beat the current average of $5.23 for another three games.

Tropico 5 is the fifth game in the city-building/simulation series. The general consensus is that 5’s not bad, but not as good as 4, and not different enough to be worth playing over its predecessor.

GRAV is currently in early access, and is quite contentious. Some people don’t aren’t too happy with the direction the game’s going, or how quickly it’s going there, but GRAV’s already seen at least one major overhaul, so, you know, early access.

Finally in the BAT tier, Victor Vran. It’s a an action RPG, much like Diablo, Path of Exile, or Torchlight 2. Only in Victor Vran, you can jump. Sold?

Then for $12, welcome to the bundle the Homeworld Remastered Collection. It’s a great price for a classic game that was remastered well. If you’re clueless, though. Homeworld is a Sci-fi RTS with massive ship battles.

Say what you will about gargoyles, but Glen has a fairly decent taste in games. Some odd choices here and there, but over all, the Humble Staff Picks Bundle has something worth playing in every tier.

Josh Price is a writer who probably spends too many hours of the day playing video games. At some point he decided to put the two together to (hopefully) great effect. He also wrote some fiction. You should check that out if you're into such things, which you should be. Reading is FUNdamental.
