I can only imagine that Ubisoft is hoping that the open beta for Trackmania Turbo does as well for the game as the open beta for The Division did. The latter is breaking sales records left and right.
From Friday, March 18th, until Monday, March 21st, you’ll be able to download Trackmania Turbo and play it on the Xbox One and PS4. No word on an open beta for the PC, but unless they somehow squeeze it in between now and when the game launches on the 22nd (at least in the US; it’s coming out the 24th elsewhere) I wouldn’t count on there being an open beta for the game on your personal computers.
Ubisoft has a brief little trailer to showcase what I just told you, only with fast cars and flashy music.
Trackmania Turbo, originally scheduled to come out last year, was delayed in October for developer Nadeo to give it a little extra polish and love, but it’s finally arriving. The many Trackmania games are the closest thing to Hot Wheels we have in video games today. At least aside from the actual Hot Wheels video games, but we don’t like to talk about those.
I guess we’ll have to see if the open beta leaves a pleasant taste in everyone’s mouth.
If not, we’ll just have to go play with actual Hot Wheels.
