The Walking Dead: Michonne

The Walking Dead: Michonne Release Date Revealed

Episode One of The Walking Dead: Michonne will be slicing up consoles (and PC) on February 23, and mobile devices on the 25th. Telltales latest episodic offering, this time in miniseries format, will consist of a full three episodes when all is said and done, and will retail for $15 US.

Samira Wiley (of Orange is the New Black fame) will voice the titular blade-wielding badass, and will explore her absence between issues #126 and #139 of the comic book series.

Episode 1, In Too Deep, follows Michonne as she “joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.”

March will bring the second episode, Give No Shelter, and the third and final episode, What We Deserve, drops in April.

If you’re worried that perhaps Telltale has lost its magic, episodic touch, then fear not fair gamer, for the developer will be hosting a live preview of the The Walking Dead: Michonne on February 14th. I can’t think of a better way to bring in valentines day than watching Michonne chopping up zombies with your loved one. Of course, the preview will only run for five minutes, so to make the most of it, you may have to rewatch it a few times.

Telltale’s blog post details all this and more, and assures fans that a third season of The Walking Dead is deep in development, but details on that won’t show up until after this miniseries concludes.

But if you had to ask me, The Walking Dead: Season 3 seems like a really good E3 offering.
