EA Play

Find Out Whether Gamers Are Ready to Play EA Play

Another con or expo would just be ridiculous at this point. But don’t tell EA that, because that’s precisely what they’re doing. EA is calling their “get together” EA Play and promises “hands-on game demos, live events, competition, special guest appearances, exclusive memorabilia and more.” The event is going to take place in the days leading up to E3. Everyone should just cram their gaming event into June. Why not?

The first ever EA Play will take place in both Los Angeles and London. Whereas the London event will only take place on the 12th, the LA one will span a full two days followed immediately by E3 from the 14th to the 16th. I guess planting your game event right in front of E3 is as good a time as any. Everyone will already be in LA, so there’s a good chance a lot of them will be more than willing to hang out with EA for a bit.

There aren’t many details about what exactly will be at the show, but they wouldn’t reveal such secrets this far in advance, or at all probably. You’ll have to go there yourself on the 12th (or watch live via the glories of the internet) to see the latest offerings from EA. I think it’s a safe bet that Mass Effect: Andromeda will show up in some way. Perhaps another Star Wars game (or two). There’s the Star Wars that Amy Hennig is working on with Visceral, plus rumors of another game that might show up at E3 this year.

But we’ll have to wait till then to find out more.
