Rise of the Tomb Raider – PC & PS4 Release

Rise of the Tomb Raider, one of the big hits of 2015, has, up until now, been an Xbox One exclusive. So, if you’ve not rushed out and bought an Xbox One for this precise reason then you’ve not been able to play the game. Previous news and rumours had circulated as to the Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity deal coming to an end and there being a release across platforms. Well, there has been a Steam update recently and they are now showing a January release.

Rise of the Tomb Raider PC Steam update

There has been no official announcement, as yet, but the PC information is likely to be up to date on Steam. With this in mind it is expected that the PS4 version of the game will not be far behind. As you can see from the screenshots above the Rise of the Tomb Raider has some great reviews:

  • “Lara Croft’s Best Story Yet” – Mashable
  • “The most fascinating action hero in video games today.” – IGN
  • “Rise of the Tomb Raider is an adrenaline rush” – GameInformer
  • “One of the best action adventure games out there” – Forbes
  • “Rise of the Tomb Raider is everything I want a video game to be.” – VideoGamer

The game see our heroine, Lara Croft, taking on a cinematic survival action adventure through some of the most inhospitable and hostile landscapes in her first tomb raiding adventure, hence the Rise of the Tomb Raider (obviously) as she tries to uncover the secret to immortality. Just your average day really.

[Update – Thanks to the comments section for pointing out the “Holiday” 2016 point for PS4. That is the date initially given in July 2015. There is nothing to indicate this has changed so far.]
