“Steam Machines” Announced. Beta Testers Wanted

Steam Machines Sense has been made to as why SteamOS was announced! Valve’s Steam Box is scheduled to release in 2014, but not as one version. There will be multiple versions of the Steam Box! These “Steam Machines” will be developed by multiple manufacturers (none of which are known at the moment), making their own rendition of the Steam Box. This will give you, the consumer, more variety in which type of Steam Box you want. The Steam Machines will be designed to play in your living room and will be using SteamOS, clearing up the confusion made earlier.

Valve also announced that they need beta testers for their new device.

While these products are still in development, we need your help. As always, we believe the best way to ensure that the right products are getting made is to let people try them out and then make changes as we go. We have designed a high-performance prototype that’s optimized for gaming, for the living room, and for Steam. Of course, it’s also completely upgradable and open.

You want in on the beta? You can view the instructions here. The link also has answers to questions you may have wanted to ask. There is a third announcement coming two days from now so be prepared for more info!

Anyone excited for these Steam Machines? Who do you think is making a Steam Box? Who would you like to make a Steam Box? Share what you think about the announcement in the comments below!
