Kojima is searching for a remake of first game with Metal Gear Solid 5 engine


With the upcoming installment to the Metal Gear Solid franchise, which will be titled Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Konami has built a completely new game engine that has been developed to take advantage of the performance of next-generation hardware.

This new game engine has taken on the name of Fox Engine and will make its first appearance with Metal Gear Solid 5. Speaking on the topic of this this game engine with GameReactor, Hideo Kojima revealed some very exciting news that is currently in development.

“Hideo Kojima restated some of the known facts about the Metal Gear Solid motion picture as well as stating his involvement and ambition to make it a great experience. As for the second request Kojima explained that he was actually in the process of searching out a studio he could task with adapting the first game to the Fox Engine. He noted that some of the mechanics would need updating, but apparently he’s keen on a second remake following Silicon Knights’ Gamecube adaption Twin Snakes and HD releases of the original game.”

With this, Metal Gear Solid fans may actually be able to return to past titles in this franchise with a complete remake that will feature the new Fox Engine that is used for Metal Gear Solid 5.
