Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO, Jim Ryan has told GameReactor that there is more to come from Sony’s first party studios for the PlayStation 4. According to Shu Yoshida at E3 there are currently 30 exclusive games in development for the Playstation 4 and fans should expect 20 of them within the first year of the consoles launch, including Infamous: Second Son by Sucker Punch and the latest new IP from Santa Monica Studios: The Order 1886.
Ryan explained how Sony were structuring the announcements of their latest titles:
“At the event in New York on February 20 of this year, we showed a lot of software,” he explained. “We showed a lot of first-party software. What we did at E3 here was really show some updates to those games, and, as you mentioned, introduce The Order: 1886. There’s a lot coming.”
With both Sony and Microsoft showing off their new consoles at their own press conferences, both powerhouses went into E3 to show off their gaming credentials. Both having impressive displays one thing that is sure to sway gamers one way or the other would be exclusive titles. Although Sony’s press conference was warmly received at E3, Microsoft showed off impressive exclusives including Titan Fall and Dead Rising along with a teaser of a new Halo.
But Ryan insists Sony have more to give on the PlayStation 4 and some of it will be announced at this years Gamescom:
“There’s a lot going on, it’s just that we need to keep stuff back. We’ve got Gamescom for us Europeans—we need to have something to show at Gamescom, don’t we?”
