PS4 Pre-orders Dominating Xbox One at Online Retailers

With the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One now finally unveiled and priced gamers can now pre-order a console of their choice. I have yet to pre-order mine but I’ll get around to it eventually. Given the amount of controversy Microsoft has been bombarded with recently – and Sony is pretty much reining in benefits – the question is: which console will come out on top?

According to DualShockers it’s possibly going to be the PS4. They have come up with a list comparing top sellers and pre-orders of the most popular online retailers in countries where both consoles will be released. Both the consoles were ranked next to each other and it turns out that the PS4 was very much in the lead with 13 retailers to four. Pre-orders of games and peripherals were also taken into account but the result was the same. You can see the full list over on their website.

GameZone, on the other hand, have additional information to add to this from GameStop. According to a GameStop representative, “The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One by two units to one at GameStop.” The representative didn’t specify whether or not this was related to an individual store or across the GameStop chain.

It’s not looking good for Microsoft I must say. Of course, it is still a few months away until both consoles hit the shelves so something might change up until that point. I think, however, the wide assumption is that Sony and their PlayStation 4 will win the 8th Console War regardless (considering gamers have been making a show about it since E3, but that’s from my point of view).

Like I said, it’s still a few months away until both consoles are released so anything up until that point could happen in either Sony’s or Microsoft’s favour. According to DualShockers’ list, however, it’s not looking positive.

What do you think of the PlayStation 4 beating the Xbox One in terms of pre-orders? Let us know in the comments!

  1. If you correctly buy something you own it. With the xbox one the games you’ve bought needs to be verified once every 24 hours online or else they wont work. My point is if you have to ask permission to use something you’ve bought you DON’T realy own it do you? Microsoft should market the xbox one as a lease or rental system then maybe gamers wont feel so betrayed.
