Attention all Dragonborns! Bethesda has just released the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the 1.9 update for Skyrim. The PC version of the update was released last month and added new legendary skills and a legendary difficulty setting, along with a multitude of bug fixes.
The 1.9 update allows players to reset their maxed out 100 skills back to 15 and return its perks, which allows the skill to level up characters again. Accompanying the new legendary skills is a legendary difficulty mode, superseding master as the most difficult way to play Skyrim. Also, NPC companions will now automatically equip the best possible armor and weapon combinations.
Other bug fixes include numerous broken quests getting repaired, improved memory and general stability, and making sure couriers are fully clothed when they deliver important messages to Dovahkiin. The full list of added features and bug fixes can be found on the official Bethesda Blog right here.
This update is welcome news to players looking for stiffer competition for their maxed out characters. Cutting through dragons and dwarven ruins without a scratch only stays entertaining for so long. Although, couriers showing up to my house in nothing but underwear and a hat to tell me about the new museum in Dawnstar probably would have been entertaining forever, oh well. The update is free for both Xbox 360 and PS3 players, and should download automatically once the game starts up.
