Latest MLB Rumors have it that six teams are pursuing Chris Sale! The Chicago White Sox are already planning to offload Sale this offseason itself. He has now garnered interested from some of the top teams in the league.
MLB Rumors talk of how the Chicago White Sox is desiring a revamp of their team. CBS Sports reports that the team will not move Jose Abreu and Jose Quintana. However, they might trade players like Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Chris Sale.
This is because of the shorter free agency durations of these players. MLB Rumors talk of how Sale is a prime pick for any side. He is already a major frontline bet and has impressive stats. Sale already has a career figure of 135 ERA+ in tandem with a 4.78 lead K/BB ratio.
Sale is only 28 years old and will be healthy and strong for many years now. He is already locked into an official contract till 2019. He will earn $12 million and $12.5 million in 2017 and 2018. Sale will also be earning $13.5 million in 2019 as per his contract. The baseball player also has a buyout option of $1 million.

Given Sale’s abilities as a pitcher, these rates may be quite reasonable for the six teams on the other side of the line. The teams pursuing Sale are the Dodgers, Astros, Nationals and Red Sox. The Rangers and Braves have also thrown their hats into the ring.
Chris Sale would be a value addition to almost any team he plays in. Sale may also have his value going down drastically over the next 2-3 years or so. $38 million for Sale through 2019 may be a viable deal for most of these teams.
It now remains to be seen as to which team finally gets Sale from the White Sox.
