Are we getting another New Age of Heroes? It appears it is the case as rumors are spiraling all over the internet about a new Marvel vs Capcom 4 game.
This is days before the upcoming PlayStation Experience that will give us updates about the latest scoops in Sony’s hit franchise. If there is any place for publishers to announce new games, it’s in this year’s PS Experience.
However, just how true are the rumors?
The rumors surfaced after leaked images of a supposed logo of the game with the words “2017” on it. This indicates that the game is going to be released next year. The hype continued when certain NeoGAF members said things are happening at the Capcom Cup in December 3.
It can be reasonable for Capcom to dish out a new fighting game given the success of other titles such as Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Mortal Kombat X. Not to mention the critical acclaim with Street Fighter 5 and the hype for Tekken 7 remained as strong as ever.
Would this mean we’re getting to see Ryu and Ken dish it out against Captain America and Iron Man?
Marvel vs Capcom 4: False Rumors?
However, according to Marvel vs Capcom 3 producer Ryota Niitsuma revealed there are currently no plans for the next title in the franchise.

YouTuber VesperArcade tries to analyze the rumors and speculates on just how possible is it for us to have a new Marvel vs Capcom game.
It can be remembered that Marvel vs Capcom 3 came out 11 years after Marvel vs Capcom 2. The delay was partly due to the transition from 2D to 3D, as well as other technical changes and licensing problems.
It can be understood that a massive game such as Marvel vs Capcom 4 will take a lot of time to fix the huge roster to be available in the game. Given Marvel’s success through the years, it may even be harder to license its top characters for a Marvel vs Capcom 4 game.
