Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update to Release On December 6

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is slated to be released this December.The  6th of December is the date confirmed for the release as per sources. This news has already come as a source of great excitement to tech buffs.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update date has been confirmed after Google officially announced the release last month. Google has already stated that the new OS version will be available for Nexus devices.

Vodafone Australia already confirms that the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will be rolled out. This has been reported by Phone Arena. Word is, that  this will be available for the Nexus 6P upon its launch. The update will add another 650 MB to the mix.

Which Devices Will Get the Update? 

It is also likely to encompass the security patch for December along with several new features. However, Google may need a couple of weeks to fully integrate the latest OS into all eligible devices.

The update will be received by the Nexus 6, 9, 5X, Pixel C and Player models. These models are also expected to receive this update in early December itself. The Pixel XL and Pixel phones already use Android 7.1. However, they will also be updated in December.

This will come with the monthly security patches that are a must. A Developer Preview is already available for Android 7.1. Google will be rolling out this software update for its Nexus 6P on December 6th from 5 PM AEST.

The preview suggests a security patch for December 2016. Additionally, one’s phone has to be fully charged for completing this update. You should also remember to back up all your contacts, messages, and other important data.
