Oscar 2017 Awards Predictions
Front runner for the Best Picture award for the Oscar 2017 is romantic musical comedy La La Land followed by Garth Davis’ Lions. However, films such as Silence, Moonlight, Sully, Arrival and Jackie are also in the running towards becoming the year’s Best Picture.
Of course, Damien Chazelle who directed La La Land is also probably going to bag home the Best Director award. But it is best not to discount either Garth Davis or Martin Scorsese who directed Silence. Also, probably a winner for the evening are Barry Jenkins of Moonlight, and Dennis Villeneuve of Arrival.
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling might be Best Actress and Actor of the night for La La Land. But HNGN says other big time contenders such as Natalie Portman, Ruth Negga, Annette Benning and Amy Adams might also grab the evening’s Best Actress. Competing against Gosling are big timers Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington.
Viola Davis’ role on Fences can very much get her Best Supporting Actress. But it can still be taken by the likes of Felicity Jones and Nicole Kidman. Liam Neesen, Jeff Bridges, and Hugh Grant are some of the Best Supporting Actors that might win for the night.
The89th Academy Awards will be held in Dolby Theater in California. But the final nominations will be announced on January 24, 2017.
