The Walking Dead Season 7: Carl’s Fate Revealed Soon, Chandler Riggs to End 7-Year Run?

The Walking Dead Season 7 really tells us that no one is safe. Carl’s fate hangs in the balance as his actor’s 7-year contract ends.

The recent episode of the series highlighted what perhaps appears to be a contrast to the gruesome season premiere. Viewers are given the perspectives of Maggie, Sasha and the rest of the crew at the Hilltop since the lost of their loved ones.

However, Carl is not left out in the episode. The boy we almost “grew up with” throughout the series finally gets to drive a car even kisses Enid. Carl also appears determined to kill Negan after seeing the deaths of Glenn and Andrew.

Unfortunately, recent events have fans wondering whether these Carl-“centric” episodes are signs of something grave.

The Walking Dead Season 7: No Carl, Deviation from Comics?

A lot of “evidence” points towards Carl’s actor, Chandler Riggs, leaving the show this season. This appears to be plausible as Riggs tweeted he has just been admitted into Auburn University.

While this is definitely good news, it’s an ominous sign for fans. Auburn University is located in Alabama and is about an hour and a half away from the shoot locations in Atlanta. It will be difficult to set the schedule of the actor given that he will also have to make time for classes.

Unfortunately, this may be a tough choice for Riggs – as a lot of young actors have to decide if they should pursue college or build up their career. Another sign came when William Riggs, his father, announced on Facebook that his son’s contract “is complete.”

A lot of the actors in the series are currently in the process of re-negotiating their contracts with the show. It appears Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus (Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon, respectively) have already renewed theirs for another season.

Whether or not Riggs will continue with the show is yet to be confirmed. However, Carl’s potential “absence” in the show will be a great deviation from The Walking Dead comics, which still has Carl well and alive.
