In August this year, Selena Gomez Revival Tour was cut mid-way before completion. The singer announced to her fans while in New Zealand for the tour that she will be taking time off to deal with her health-related matters.
She announced a year prior to the Selena Gomez Revival Tour that she was diagnosed of Lupus. Though she did confirm that she has been cured of the disease itself. However, symptoms and side effects still linger. Included in the said side effects are depression and anxiety.
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges,” told the singer during an interview with People.
She added that she wanted to focus on getting better. “I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.”
She then proceeded to thank her fans who has been so supportive of Selena Gomez. “Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me. But I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.”
After that, she has laid low from the public for months until she was spotted again by her loyal fans having lunch in Tennessee.
