Will Nokia Android Smartphones 2017 be a reality? Nokia smartphones are expected to be unleashed globally once again next year. Nokia’s big ticket return to the market has already put enthusiasts in a tizzy!
Nokia Android Smartphones 2017 rumors have been proved true after all. GSM Arena reports that the Finnish company has confirmed these rumors. There is a company slide for the Capital Markets Day investor event. This slide contains proof of Nokia’s re-entry into the smartphone segment.
However, a lineup of Nokia Android Smartphones 2017 may still be elusive. Nokia may not be churning out devices under its own brand. The company will own the HMD brand for these smartphones along with all the patents. Nokia will also be monitoring and supervising the creation of these new phones.
HMD is a brand new company that was founded earlier in 2016. This brand will tap into Nokia’s patents, brand and expertise. Foxconn will also provide manufacturing and research and development (R&D) expertise.
HMD already has a 10 year deal for making use of the Nokia brand on smartphones. It will be pumping in a whopping €500 million for marketing alone. The new Nokia Android phones may release in 2017’s second quarter.
When Will These Phones Be Globally Unveiled?
The MWC in February may see the smartphones being unveiled. However, there are rumors of the new phones being unveiled before this year ends. Nokia is now taking a more mature perspective on launching new products globally.
Nokia has handed over all other duties to HMD. It will simply be the brand owner. Such deals are not uncommon in this space. However, this high profile deal stands out for the sheer economics involved.
Nokia customers and fans will be able to land new smartphones pretty soon. Nokia’s comeback is being eagerly awaited by fans and industry watchers alike.
