As tension between Russia and the West rise up, speculations of an upcoming World War 3 increases. This time, NATO is acting out by preparing 300,000 soldiers to be ready for deployment to Russia.
Apart from the United States- Russia feud, NATO is also rolling up its sleeves in preparation for the possibility of war against Russia.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance formulated under the North Atlantic Treaty. The treaty was created to ensure peace during international disputes. In Article 1 of the treaty, it states that arguments are to be settled as peacefully as possible.
To date, there are 28 member countries in NATO. Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherland, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.
World War 3: Is NATO Going to Attack Against Russia?
Part of the alliance is military power contribution and military advise. According to NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg, there are troops coming from the countries under the alliance prepared against Russia.
Stoltenberg confirms that the troops collected is targeting Russia.
“We have seen Russia being much more active in many different ways.”
“We have seen a more assertive Russia implementing a substantial military build-up over many years – tripling defence spending since 2000 in real terms; developing new military capabilities; exercising their forces and using military force against neighbours.”
“We have also seen Russia using propaganda in Europe among Nato allies and that is exactly the reason why Nato is responding. We are responding with the biggest reinforcement of our collective defence since the end of the Cold War.”
US Responsible for NATO Deployment?
While he did not confirm the number of troops, Britain’s current NATO representative Sir Adam Thompson estimated about 300,000.
The three above are his major reasons for the deployment of the 300,000 troops. However, the current US-Russia tension can also be playing a major part on the recent NATO action.
While Russian president Vladimir Putin has been open about what he thinks about US, US is also putting much heat on Russia. Recently, Hillary Clinton herself directly blamed Russia for leaking false emails to WikiLeaks to cause havoc in her campaign.
Speculations have also risen that if Clinton does win, a World War 3 against Russia will definitely happen.
