President Donald Trump has a lot on his sleeves especially with the social unrest following his win. Because of this, rumors are that the president-elect is looking even further to putting his running rival, Hillary Clinton to jail.
One of the things President Donald Trump said during the second presidential debate is that he will make sure to have the Democrat’s candidate investigated. He said, “If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation. Because there has never been so many lies, so much deception.”
President Donald Trump Pursuing Investigation?
Former New York City mayor and Trump’s transition team vice-chair, Rudy Giuliani confirms in an interview that Clinton might still be investigated under the President Donald Trump’s term. However, he also did not say that it will be the president directly pursuing the efforts.
On Sunday’s ABC The Week interview, George Stephanopoulos asked Guiliani if the president will do as he said in the second debate. Guiliani answered, “On the one hand, you don’t want to disrupt the nation with what might look like a vindictive prosecution, even though it might not be. On the other hand, you want equal justice under the law, and if she has violated the law ― you know, the FBI never completed the [Clinton] Foundation investigation. That’s, as far as I know, that’s still an ongoing investigation. They completed the email investigation, but not the Foundation investigation.”
President Donald Trump himself said that “I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, I’m going to think about it,” during CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday. He added that he did not want to hurt the Clintons because they are good people. Additionally, he promised to have a response the next time he is in the show.
Will Hillary Clinton Go To Jail? #JailClinton Trending
As Guiliani mentioned, the FBI has released Clinton of any charges for her leaked private emails. These controversial emails were investigated twice and have had a great impact on the candidate’s reputation.
Sources like Wikileaks have portrayed her as someone who does business below the table. However, the FBI seems to see nothing wrong with all the emails they have reviewed.
“Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton,” said FBI Director James B. Comey, in a brief letter to Congress.
However, the investigation of Clinton Foundation is still pushing through. The former secretary of state is alleged for corruption during her previous post wherein the foundation is used as the medium.
Headed by FBI’s White Collar Crime Division, they are currently still investigating people who might be involved in the matter. For now, no conclusion has been made.
While Clinton has many supporters, some are still keen on having her arrested. Recently, a hashtag is circulating about putting her to jail. #JailClinton posts are now spreading over different social media platforms.
