Billy Bob Thornton admits he felt unworthy of his ex-wife amid reports that Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt are divorcing.
Thornton says he was never good enough for Jolie, an interview for the GQ magazine November issue.
Their different interests spelled doom for their marriage. Thornton says he wants a low-key life, spending time watching sports at home. In contrast, Jolie was more into pursuing her humanitarian efforts.
Thornton Won’t Change, Wants Simple Life
He did not want to be in the limelight because he “does not feel comfortable around rich and important people.” “I like the way that I am,” Thornton adds.
However, he makes clear that Jolie should not be blamed for his feelings about the marriage. The Bad Santa star emphasized that his ex-wife never disparaged him for his simple ambitions.
Thornton had made similar comments on ABC’s Nightline in a 2012 interview.
Thornton Admits He Chickened Out

He recalled that they had a “great time together.”
“We had a great marriage and I chickened out because I didn’t feel good enough. That’s all that happened. It was no big deal, we never hated each other,” he said in the Nightline interview.
The two first met on the Pushing Tin set. They married on May 5, 2000, just after a two-month whirlwind courtship. Their divorce became final in 2003.
