Blizzard’s Overwatch is one of the most popular games in the world right now. Just recently Blizzard announced that they have over 20 million registered players. But if you aren’t a part of that 20 million, Blizzard is giving you a chance to try it out absolutely free. Could this also be a chance to promote the newest hero in Overwatch Sombra?
As posted on their official blog, Blizzard plans to have a free weekend for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 gamers next weekend. From November 18 – 21, those that don’t own Overwatch will have a chance to try out the game that the world has gone crazy for — absolutely free.
Overwatch Free Weekend: Everything You Need to Know
The free weekend will include everything that the live servers currently have. That includes 22 playable heroes, 13 different maps, and all the different game modes. They will also be able to level up and gain loot boxes during the event and — should they decide to purchase Overwatch — all of their unlocks and progression will carry over to their permanent account.
The free weekend is available to all PlayStation 4 users with PlayStation Plus, Xbox One users with Xbox Live Gold, and Windows PC users with a Battle.net account. It will begin on November 18 (18:00 UTC) and end on November 21 (23:00 UTC). A reference guide for unlock times in the different regions is available here.

Possible Access to Overwatch Sombra?
Now the question on everyone’s mind — will Sombra be playable in the upcoming free weekend? Well the simple answer is we don’t know. There has been no official statement from Blizzard on when Sombra will be released, though she is available in the PTR now for PC players.
The last hero to be released was Ana and she arrived in the PTR on July 12, 2016. She then arrived in the live servers (for the PC at least) just a week later on July 19. Sombra, on the other hand, arrived in the PTR early this week on November 7. So it’s still possible for Blizzard to release her to the live servers by next week — just in time for the free weekend.
