The Detroit Tigers Trade for Ian Kinsler may be off the table for now at least. This is because Kinsler has recently won the Rawlings Gold Glove for second basemen. This has led to the Tigers canceling all trade talks for Kinsler as per rumors.
Detroit Tigers Trade rumors were earlier hinting at a possible exchange with the Dodgers. Kinsler would move to the Dodgers while Trayce Thompson would fit into the Tiger’s lineup. However, these trade talks are reportedly off the table.
Detroit Tigers Trade aspirations have been put on hold. The team now realizes what Kinsler gives them in terms of value. Selling him now would be a bad decision and it would be better to wait it out. Kinsler is in good form and his stats are also quite impressive for this season till now.
CBS Detroit has also reported that Kinsler has received the Rawlings Gold Glove Award. This award is given to second basemen in the American League. The award has just been conferred on Kinsler, the second in his career. He is also the first second baseman from the Tigers to win this award in half a decade. Placido Polanco last won it in the year 2009.
Kinsler May Also Win The Big One
Kinsler has also been automatically declared a Rawlings Platinum Glove Award finalist. This will be presented by the Society for American Baseball Research. Voting will start at 9 pm tonight and fans can prop up Kinsler at rawlings.com. Voting will end at 9 pm tomorrow and the eventual winner will be awarded at the glittering ceremony on November 11th.
Kinsler definitely has the stats with his fielding percentage standing at .088 in 151 games at second base this year. He has only nine errors in a total of 744 chances which is very impressive. He also has a range factor of 5.09 for ever nine innings and is also second amongst second basemen in the tally with 12 defensive runs saved in all. While he was fifth, he also has 432 assists and 303 putouts.
